RESOURCES & INFORMATION

Toy Donations

Yes, we accept donations of toys, puzzles and games! Toy donations are critical to being able to run our organisation. The best and quickest way to check what we can accept is to email us photos of what you have to donate, and we can let you know straight away what we can and can't use.

Please ensure all toys are cleaned before donation to meet our Covidsafe requirements. Most toys just need a quick wipe over, please see the full cleaning instructions here.

We can only take items that are 'ready for play' in our collection.

This includes:

  • Educational toys, puzzles and games that are high quality, complete and in great condition

  • Well known brand name toys. Unfortunately, if we can't identify the brand, we cannot cannot include the toy in our collection for safety reasons.

  • Engaging and appealing to children aged from 6 months to 8 years of age

  • Transportable and able to fit into a standard sized car

Sorry, we cannot accept:

  • Toys with damaged or missing parts

  • Homemade toys

  • Soft toys

  • Licenced toys (including tv or movie branded items)

  • Lower quality toys (from places such as Kmart -Anko Branded, or the Reject Shop)

  • Toys over 10 years old

  • Bikes with chains, or powered ride-on toys

  • Consumable items such as play doh or arts and craft supplies

Financial Donations

Maroondah Toy Library receives no ongoing government or corporate funding. Our membership fees alone do not cover our day-to-day running costs so we need your help to keep our doors open, helping families of the greater Maroondah area connect and learn through play. Donations also contribute to ensuring our library is continually stocked with a wide range of quality toys and play equipment.

Please consider making a donation today via GiveNow or PayPal.  We are endorsed as a deductible gift recipient and all donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.

Basic and Standard members are required to volunteer for 6 hours per year. The library could not keep its doors open without this assistance and we encourage mums, dads, grandparents or other relatives to come along and lend a hand. It is a wonderful sense of community.

We also welcome non-member community and corporate volunteers to help us with staffing sessions, stock take, messy play days and more. Shoot us an email on enquiries@maroondahtoylibrary.org.au to find out more.
